What size is a passport photo?
It depends on the country and the document. For the US visa and passport it is 2 × 2 in (51 × 51 mm); many countries use the ICAO 35 × 45 mm size; Spain uses 32 × 26 mm for the ID and passport; Mexico's «tamaño infantil» is 25 × 30 mm; Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela and Paraguay usually use 30 × 40 mm, Argentina 40 × 40 mm and the Dominican Republic 2 × 2 in. How do I make a passport photo for free?

Can I take the photo with my phone?
Yes. Stand in front of a plain wall with light in front of you (a window works), have someone take the photo at eye level from about 1 to 1.5 meters, without flash, looking at the camera with a neutral expression. Avoid close-up selfies: they distort the face.
How do I print the photo?
Download the 4×6 in (10×15 cm) sheet and print it as a regular 4×6 photo at any photo shop, then cut along the gray lines. If you print at home, print at 100 % (no «fit to page») so it comes out at the exact size.
What size is the US visa photo?
2 × 2 in (5 × 5 cm), white background, with the head 1 to 1 3/8 in (25 to 35 mm) from chin to top. For the DS-160 the digital photo is square, 600 × 600 to 1200 × 1200 pixels, JPEG up to 240 KB; the tool downloads that version too.
Do I need to bring a photo for my passport?
In Peru, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina, no: the agency takes the photo during the appointment. In Spain you bring it (32 × 26 mm, white background), and in the US the photo is 2 × 2 in.
Why could my photo be rejected?
Most often: shadows on the face or background, glare on glasses, hair over the eyes, a tilted head, a toothy smile, a blurry photo or the wrong size. This tool handles the background and the size; pose and lighting depend on the photo you upload.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?

Does it work for any application?
