How do I remove the background from my signature?
Sign on a white sheet with a dark pen, take a close-up photo and upload it in the Photo option: the tool separates the ink from the paper, removes shadows and leaves the signature on a transparent background. You can choose black, blue or the original ink, and move the stroke control if the line comes out too thin or spotty.
Is it safe to sign contracts online?
Here your contract never leaves your device: the PDF and your signature are processed inside the browser and are not sent to any server. Still, always read a contract before signing it, and keep in mind this signature is an image: if the document requires a certificate-based digital signature, you need a different tool.
Is this the same as a certificate-based digital signature?
No. This tool places an image of your signature on the PDF, like signing a sheet and scanning it. A digital signature (such as one from a national electronic ID or a digital certificate) uses a certificate that identifies the person and shows whether the document changed afterwards. If a procedure requires a digital signature, use the one from your provider; this works where a scanned signature is accepted, such as many private contracts, letters and forms.
How do I initial every page?
Create your initials (typed, drawn or from a photo) and tap On every page: they are placed in the bottom-right corner of every page with a single click. You can then move or delete them on any specific page.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is opened and signed inside your browser; it is not sent to any server and it disappears when you close or reload the page. If you check Remember my signature, only the image of your signature is saved in this browser, and you can delete it with Forget saved signature.
Can I sign a Word document?
Not directly: convert it to PDF first. In Word, go to File › Save as (or Export) and choose PDF; in Google Docs, File › Download › PDF document. Then upload that PDF here.
Can I add the date and my ID number?
Yes. Date adds today's date (you can change it) and Text lets you type anything you need, such as your full name or ID number, and drag it into place.
Can I sign a password-protected PDF?
Not if it asks for a password to open: first open it with the password and save or print it as a new PDF without a password. PDFs protected against changes can't be signed either; the fix is the same, save it as a new PDF.
Is there a page or size limit?
There is no limit on documents, pages or signatures. The file can be up to 100 MB; on a phone with little memory, a very heavy PDF can be slow.
What if I put the signature in the wrong place?
Tap it and drag it somewhere else, or delete it with the X. Nothing is added to the PDF until you download, and your original file is not changed: you download a signed copy.
